The Bay of Kotor, part of the UNESCO cultural heritage, is undoubtedly the most impressive when seen from the sea. Thanks to its unusual appearance, it is often called the southernmost fjord in Europe, but in fact the Bay of Kotor is a submerged canyon. The bay consists of 4 smaller ones - the Gulf of Tivat, the Gulf of Herceg Novi, the Gulf of Risan and the Gulf of Kotor. The narrowest part of the bay, the Strait of Verige, divides it into an inner and an outer part. The Bay of Kotor exudes unusual peace and quiet. The boat ride will take you through unrepeatably picturesque nature, turbulent history and enchanting architecture.

At 158 km, Tara is the longest river in Montenegro and one of the most beautiful and challenging rivers in Europe and the world, with an 80 km long canyon, which is also one of the deepest canyons in the world (1,300 m), right after the Colorado, but because of its beauty certainly the first. It originates from the two rivers Opasanica and Veruša below the Komovi mountain. The last 40 km of the course of the Tara River is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in several places it forms the border between the two countries. In Šćepan polje, together with the river Piva, it forms the river Drina. The Tara River is on the UNESCO list of protected areas. The canyon and the Tara River fulfilled as many as three conditions (of which only one was sufficient) to become part of the UNESCO World Heritage of Natural Resources, namely: biological phenomenon, hydrological phenomenon and geological phenomenon.
Tara is particularly attractive with its 69 beech trees, on which it turns into foam, a whirlpool, which makes it very challenging for tourists. There are alternating strong beechs, diverse rapids, with deep whirlpools, inlets, pots and straits, rare drafts. The water is clean, transparent, spilled in various colors, the shores are lush, smooth, steep and challenging. For its vividness and unfavorable relief, for the attractiveness of its strong flow, with beech trees and springs (about 15 larger ones), with numerous rapids (with a drop of 4.5 meters per kilometer), for its wealth of flora and fauna, relict and endemic species, Tara canyon is unique, unparalleled in the world. The stormy and timid tributaries of the Tara carry a large amount of loose material, stones and sand that the Tara accepts, crushes and scatters with its bed, thus creating beautiful pebble banks and beaches of finely washed sand. The unique canyon known in the world as the deepest and steepest river canyon in Europe and capricious mountain river attracts many tourists from all over the world. Tara is the wildest, most beautiful and cleanest river of the old continent. Because of its purity, it is called the tear of Europe.
Njeguši is the cradle of the tribe of the same name, which played a significant role in history, giving prominent bishops and rulers to the Montenegrin state from the Petrović dynasty. A complex of related houses made of hewn stone are grouped along the main road that leads from Kotor to Cetinje and back. There is Njegoš's birth house, the Petrović tower house, the house of Rade Petrović and Tomo Petrović.
On the other side of the road, in the same yard as Njegošev's, is the house of Duke Mirko Petrović with a barn next to it. The house where Njegoš was born is made of stone, has a rectangular base and belongs to the type of traditional folk architecture of the stone part of Montenegro, simple, without decorative elements.
Ada Bojana is an artificially created island, and popular legend says that in 1858, a ship called "Merito" sank into the sea at the mouth of the Bojana River. The ship was owned by Antun Allegretti from Trogir and was commanded by Captain Naporelli. This was a decisive moment for the creation of Ada because in the 19th century there were 2 smaller islands here, so the shipwrecks together with the islands retained river sediments and thus created Ada Bojana.
This island is triangular in shape and is washed by sea water on one side, while river water on the other two sides; and extends over 600 hectares.
Ada Bojana has an incredibly rich flora and fauna and tourists flock here to relax and enjoy themselves. What sets it apart from the rest of the coast is the mistral wind, which is perfect for the so-called "kitesurfing".
Also, many agree that this is a place that draws out negative thoughts and that a longer stay can restore people's will and strength 'for new victories'. It is adorned with Mediterranean vegetation, which gives it the charm of the Amazon.
Ostrog Monastery — is located on the road Danilovgrad - Nikšić under the hill of the same name at an altitude of 900m. It was founded and spent the last years of his life there by Vasilije Jovanović, better known as St. Vasilije Ostroski. St. Vasilije followed the trail of the ascetic and hermit Isaiah and thus found the cave where Isaiah prayed. In that cave is located the Upper church dedicated to St. Cross. The upper monastery consists of the small church of St. Cross, built in 1665 and St. Vavedenia, whose origin cannot be determined exactly, and which tradition says was founded by hermits who lived before St. Basil. Today, the monastery is a kind of sanctuary and a place of pilgrimage for many believers.
Biogradska Gora National Park was founded in 1952. Located in the north-eastern part of Montenegro, between the Lim and Morača rivers, in the central part of the Bjelasica mountain, it covers an area of 5,650 hectares.
NP Biogradska gora - in one of the last three rainforests in Europe, and if we dare to step a little deeper into the depths of the mountain, we will come across the most beautiful thing: the emerald colors of the beautiful Biograd Lake. We will quickly understand how everything is in its place here: centuries-old forests, colorful flowers, and the legend about the creation of the lake, which tells from ancient times that fairies used to be there and used to take a cart to Guvna, which is today its shallowest part. In the place where there is a shallow today, there used to be a joint field between two brothers. In an argument that arose during the distribution of grain at the threshing floor, the younger brother kills the older one. Broken by the pain, the mother cursed her son, and due to the force of her curse, the earth broke in the place where the field had been, and thus the lake was created. But there was something left, even in the measure of a villa - far from the public eye, beautiful and whimsical.
Its protection dates back to 1878, when this territory became the Prince's Ban, a gift to the then ruler of Montenegro, Prince Nikola. The landscape is extremely gentle, with a dominant green color due to the expanses of unique forest ecosystems, which alternate with colorful landscapes with meadow vegetation.
The most significant natural value of this national park is the Biogradska gora rainforest, which covers an area of 4,500 hectares and is one of the last three in Europe.
The clear and calm blue-green water reflects the ancient beech trees that surround it and the mountain heights in the distance. The sight awakens the imagination and leaves an impression of deep mystery, so much so that everyone wants to remain trapped in that harmony of nature and dark areas where the sun barely breaks through and where the scents of plants indicate the enormous diversity of plant and animal life, the age-old guardians of the beautiful Biogradska Gora.
If you are a fan of hiking, you have the opportunity to conquer the highest peak of Bjelasica, Crna glava (2137 m), from which you can see another beautiful lake - Ursulovacko.
